Welcome to the Internet Home for First Baptist Church Oak Ridge's Ignite Youth Ministries!!
We seek to provide a safe, fun, open, and caring environment for teenagers where the faith journey of each youth can be nurtured and enhanced. We offer middle school and high school Sunday school classes as well as our weekly Wednesday evening Bible study time. In addition to learning about life and faith in the classroom setting, we also offer opportunities for our youth to take part in missions and ministry experiences.
We dive in to God's word and apply it to our lives today. What kind of man or woman of God is He calling you to be? What does He say about the struggles in your life? How can I be used by Him? Why is this happening to me or my friends? How can I walk the straight and narrow? It is in His word and we will find how He is speaking to us.
We have a great deal of fun together throughout the year as well. Each year we have a camp out during the summer months and enjoy a day of fun on the lake. We also participate in regular fellowship outings that include ice skating, go-cart riding and putt-putt, bowling, lock-ins, hiking, game nights, and parties. Some of the other major annual highlights include sponsoring the annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser put on by our church each October and participating in a week-long mission trip or camp experience during the summer.
